Apple is now internally testing the iOS 16.4.1 update, as confirmed independently following earlier rumors. The release date for the update is uncertain, but it’s likely to become available within the next couple of weeks.

Typical of minor updates, iOS 16.4.1 will probably focus on addressing bug fixes and implementing security patches. Since the release of iOS 16.4 last week, some iPhone users have reported issues, such as having to repeatedly input Wi-Fi passwords and encountering various UI glitches. Despite Apple’s system status page suggesting the issue has been resolved, some users still experience problems with the Weather app failing to display data.

The iOS 16.4.1 update will serve as an interim solution until the release of iOS 16.5, expected around May. Last week, Apple introduced the first beta of iOS 16.5, which includes minor changes like a Sports tab in the Apple News app and the ability to initiate screen recording using Siri.

With the WWDC 2023 keynote scheduled for June 5, during which Apple is expected to announce iOS 17, the iOS 16 software cycle is approaching its conclusion.
